After returning from Paris, we jumped straight back into rotation on Monday morning. We spent Monday morning learning about total parenteral nutrition in the French hospitals.
I haven't mentioned lunches at the hospital but most are quite delicious. it has been perfect opportunity to try numerous dishes even when we were not sure what We were choosing. We have done great at figuring out chicken and fish. Fruit salad bread cheese and yogurt is a staple every day.
Monday afternoon was quite miserable. We spent over 5 hours meeting with medical device representatives and all of it was in French. I feel like Charlie brown and his teacher here.
We went to the store after leaving hospital at almost 6 to make a meal in the room. It was very good!
Tuesday we spent the morning learning about drug monitoring and in the afternoon we saw different activities performed in the lab (such as testing tpn bags for bacterial growth)
This brought back some interesting memories from biology and chemistry lab. Haven't seen some of the techniques in years.
Tuesday afternoon we found the local Starbucks and I had some
American iced coffee (it's warm
Here now). We intended to work on presentation and paper but of
Course wifi was not great so we
Did what we could.
And for dinner we found sushi! It's very reasonable here surprisingly. We have pretty much had every cultural cuisine while being here. Have to mix it up. French food is rather repetitive. Every "brasserie" has basically the same
Options.
Wednesday we spent the afternoon editing a clinical Research paper that will be published in english. We have already had to read two different manuscripts
For grammatical correction. Everyone has been grateful to have us look At the papers because it is Not easy to Write a paper in a language you are not fluent in.
Wednesday was so pretty and warm that we left rotation and went back to old Lyon to window shop and also Get some
Famous ice cream we hadn't partaken
In due to cold weather.
Wednesday night was dinner at residence and laundry.
Thursday at rotation we met with more drug manufacturers and worked on presentation.
It was beautiful outside once again so we headed to an area of town with outdoor
Shops and where hotel is located when Matt joins us next week!
It is so hard to believe we have one week left and then I am reunited with my husband! I have missed him
So! This week has been rough and I have Been homesick. I have not
Been able to communicate with them much at all. Looking forward to spending time with him and my family soon!
Tomorrow we hop on a train to
Nice! It's beach time for
The weekend. Praying for decent weather. Saturday is saying 70% rain :(
