GREAT NEWS!

Today I (Matt) got an email from Baby B's case worker. It read:

     "The Chancellor granted the termination of parental rights on Baby B's mother, and named father of the child. She has until 5/23/2013 to appeal. As of today, you are under no obligation to continue supervised visits unless the termination is overturned. Furthermore, we can't move forward with adoption until after 5/23/2013."

I don't even know what to say. We knew they had submitted a termination of parental rights (TPR), but had no idea when it would be reviewed. We didn't even think it was a possibility until his mother had her adjudication appeal which is set for 4/29/2013. She is appealing why he ever came into custody of the state of TN. She had called DCS when he was 2 weeks old, and basically said she couldn't do it and to come get Baby B. That is my paraphrase of what happened. Then, she decided to appeal why he is in custody. Hello, he is in custody because you asked DCS to come get him.

Anyways, we are not in the clear yet. She still has another month to appeal it, but we are one step closer to being Baby B's forever family. My heart is smiling more than ever before today. Our God is good, and ALWAYS in control. Please pray for us over the next month that this doesn't get appealed. After 5/23 we can go ahead and move forward with his adoption.

Oh yeah, we also found out last week that she is pregnant again.........
