HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY TO MY FATHER!

My dad turned 50 years old yesterday!
I feel blessed to just have been able to be there to celebrate with him. I know it is a blessing to be able to celebrate 50 years because we are not promised tomorrow.
I am thankful for how he has lead his family for the last 25+ years. Almost half of his life!

I am going to give a quick run down of our FUN FAMILY weekend of 50 surprises in 50 hours for a 50th birthday. I will post the actual documents in another post in case anyone wants to replicate for a special birthday! Mom spent many hours coordinating all of this so HUGE shout out to her!

Friday:
Dad was told to pack his bags for weekend get away starting at 4 pm

The "get away" was a hotel suite close to Opry Mills (I think dad thought he was going farther...ha)

Surprises on Friday included my family of 4 and each of us bringing some of his favorites such as Peanut M&Ms, Whoppers, Hot Tamales, Birthday cookies, etc

We made several 50 item lists such as 50 memories with dad, 50 reasons why we love dad, 50 words to describe dad, 50 jokes/quotes about turning 50, and a 50th birthday poem....

His BIG 50th birthday gift was a Keurig machine with Dunkin Kcups and a 50th birthday coffee mug with 3 handles stating "get a grip"

We had dinner at a near by restaurant and enjoyed coffee and MUDDYS cupcakes for dessert.
