Mom had a big pot of chili waiting on us when we arrived. We ate dinner, tucked the babies in bed, and cuddled up to watch a movie with our sweet SS, aka Madison.
Saturday morning started with a quick run followed by HOURS OF BAKING. It was fun for the entire family. So many different variety of cookies were made and decorated and of course consumed!
We made most of them to package up for my family's neigbors, but we enjoyed a few along the way.
Matt can eat his weight in snicker doodle cookies I believe.
Saturday night we relaxed at my parents house and got take out dinner because we were worn out from baking all day.
Sunday morning we went to church as an entire family. It was a sweet sight to see Madison worshipping but emotional over her current situation.
Thanks to my parents watching the babies, we were able to take Madison to lunch at SATCO to eat her heart out in tacos and then on to her first experience with ice skating.
She did fabulous. Picked it up like a champ with lil pointers or direction. She was worn out fairly quickly though.
She had one major fall an hour after we were there because Matt and I made her laugh and lose her concentration. Wish I had caught it on camera.
Monday was Christmas eve, which also started out with a quick run. We relaxed around the house until Christmas at grands at lunch time.
As usual, there was a huge spread of food that was super yummy!Baby B got to experience most of the big ppl food!
My cousins read the Christmas story and then it was time to open gifts.
None of us need anything but my mom and grandmother have a gift of giving and love finding the perfect gifts for friends and family.
The babies were spoiled but Matt and I are extremely thankful for the many practical gifts (diapers, wipes, clothes) and also the noisy making toys!
Brianna and Madison made a quick trip to Waffle house as a christmas eve tradition.
Christmas day started with a yummy Breakfast cooked by my parents. Dad has a special tradition of making chocolate gravy for biscuits every Christmas. I really like it!!
Baby B got to try some as well!
After awaking the sleepy heads, Madison and Brianna, it was time to open gifts from each other. Mom shared a few words about the wise men and how they presented gifts to the King which was followed by mom presenting gifts to each of us.
It was such a sweet time with family and we loved having Madison there for every part. Thanks friends and family for making her feel a part of the family.
My impressive hubby loaded EVERYTHING (luggage, presents for 5, etc) into the car for the trip home to Memphis. He def could not see out the back!
I hated being on the road Christmas day but It was worth it to beable to celebrate Christmas with both sides of the family the day of Christmas.
