Bethany Christian Services

One of the reassuring signs for Matt and I about "NOW" being the time to start the adoption process was a random open invitation to a banquet sponsored by Bethany Christian Services. We received a forwarded email sent to our entire Sunday school class asking if anyone was interested. Because our favorite minister Ryan and his wife were attending, we decided to sign up. Little did we know, Nasons' parents had been invited as well. The night was full of emotional testimonies and an awesome message delivered by Ed Newton (God speaks through this man every time he opens his mouth). Ed and his wife Stephanie have been through the international adoption process with Bethany. We had an excellent catered dinner and great fellowship. At the end of the night, Matt happened to be the lucky winner of a spinning globe (solar powered). We joke often in regards to the spinning globe and fancy dinner as being one expensive night out. (We wrote a hefty check to this GREAT CAUSE for Christ). The globe now rests in our bay window seal making an obnoxious, annoying noise in silence during the day. But, the globe is a daily reminder to pray for the millions of orphans all across the world.

When Matt and I started the adoption process, we started with Bethany because we were familiar with this organization and it seemed a good place to start. We did our research in regards to cost, commitments, and timing. After filling out preliminaries and signing up for an informational meeting in January (in which we did not attend), the process had begun.

Although Bethany is still an option, we have not proceeded with filling out the formal application. More to come on this......
